Getting access denied when trying to import photos from iphone

After many years of easily importing photos from my iphone, I suddenly started getting a message that 'access was denied'. The input process goes OK and I can see the first photo but then I get the access denied message. I have checked that I have full privileges to the folder where the photos are to be directed. I've tried turning off my AV without anything changing. I don't thing the problem is with the phone since I can see the photo before I get the error message. Also the photos are...
