Convert Domain PC To Pro PC

I am working for a company that was just purchased by another and we are going to be losing access to the domain server in a short time. I have a bunch of computers that, although are connected to the domain now, don't have to be to function the way I need them to. Local user accounts would be sufficient.My question is, if I re-install Windows, say Windows Pro, will the license that's attached to that computer remain? Or am I going to have a paper weight when the domain server shuts off?...
